The parasite begins to accumulate in erythrocytes and multiply, gradually eating them from the inside. As a result, the blood cell loses mobility and settles on the walls of blood vessels.
In erythrocytes, the parasite actively divides, creating a multitude of small cells instead of one large cell, called meriosites.
And as a result of the disintegration of the red blood cell, all the meriosites enter the blood plasma, causing a fever attack.
